For maximum accessibility, send your email marketing messages as multipart format. Any email clients that support HTML or have it user-enabled will show your content in HTML format. However, if someone receives your email and only allows text content, that is what they will see. Doing this allows everyone to see your message, regardless of their client or settings.

Place a prominent unsubscribe link in your email messages so customers can easily get off your list, if they don’t want your messages anymore. Even though sending emails is basically free, they can still take money out of your pocket. Besides that, leaving users without an easy way to remove themselves from your list may cause them to label and report your messages as spam, which can be damaging to your reputation and can result in penalties or blacklisting of your domain.

When you are following up with your site’s clients, a great tip is to include a free report on your follow-up email. Include a link on your email that invites your clients to click on it to begin. The ending P.S. could urge them to try out these samples that are provided.

Research shows that there are three emails that are the most important. The first offers an introduction and invitation to sign up and give permission to receive further communication. The second presents the customer with specific expectations such as coupons, discount offers or newsletters. Offer your customers a chance to sign up for your special email promotions. This way, they will have voluntarily signed up to be receiving your emails and the messages and promotions will not come across to them as spam. Gaining the permission of your customers to email them with offers will help keep your customer’s trust intact.

You can target a very large group of potential customers by making your email campaigns accessible to mobile devices. So many people these days use mobile devices to check their email, you can make your emails attractive and engaging by using small images, and using small, to-the-point messages. Be sure to put your logo at the top of your email.

One way to demonstrate your respect for your email subscribers is to ask them to confirm their subscription after a certain amount of time.
